Star
Trac Sport Treadmill Features...
Maximum Shock Absorption - One of the main reasons to own a treadmill is because they are design to reduce the impact of your stride. Star Trac in general, and the Sport model in particular, does an excellent job reducing the impact of your stride. It is a vast improvement over pounding the pavement.
Extra Long 62" Running Surface - You can go at full speed and not feel like you are about to fall off the end. This is one of the longer decks in the industry.
3.0 Continuous Duty HP Motor - You'll find treadmills with higher HP rating, but the question is, is the quality as good as the one's Star Trac uses. This motor will not strain at high speeds. It is also very quiet.
Wireless Polar® Heart Rate Control - Adjusts the intensity level of your workout based on your heart rate for target zone training. An efficient way to get the maximum results in a minimal amount of time.
Exercise Programs -
The Star Trac Sport comes with 9 pre-set programs, which is not all that much, howevger you also get a Personal Trainer Studio that creates and saves up to 250 custom programs.
Unit Weight - At 284 lbs., this is a very solid machine, and for that reason you'll want someone to deliver and set-up this treadmill.
Warranty - I am not exactly sure what the parts warranty is, it is not listed on their site. I sent an email to find out. However, you get a very generous labor warranty of three years. For three years any problems are their problems. This also says something about Star Trac's confidence in their equipment.
Our
Review - Star Trac Sport
At $4,000 I would say there are other treadmill to consider, however, last I looked this model was going for around $3,000 on the Star Trac web site.
That is a reasonable price to pay for commercial quality treadmill for your home. The
advantage of a commercial quality treadmill is that they are built to last. Commercial
treadmill are designed for 5-10 hours use a day.
With
the Sport you get a lengthy 62" treadbelt, 3.0" rollers that contribute
to extended wear of the belt and triple cell cushioning system for increased shock
absorption, and it is all backed with a lenghty service warranty.
If you have a few thousand to spend and you want an excellent running machine, the Star Trac Sport should be on your short list.
