Note: the Spirit SR 475is no longer available. Spirit has a reputation for building a good solid treadmill. Unfortunately they recently have converted all of their manufacturing overseas and their new treadmill are unproven. Experience with other manufacturers that have moved the production overseas often results in poor quality control. I would give it a year to see how the new designs prove themselves.

The Spirit 475 Treadmill is an impressive treadmill for home use. It is fully programmable and has heart rate control displayed on a 6 window dot matrix control board. It also features Spirit's unique controlled low impact Trax Flex system and is built with heavy-duty components. What makes this treadmill stand out is the 22" wide belt. There are only a few treadmills that offers that wide of a belt.

It also has a monster of a motor at 3.5 hp and lifetime warranty on parts. (We always recommend you read the fine print on lifetime warranties.) Our main complaint is that it has the style of a treadmill from the 90's.

The SR475 is designed for both walking, jogging and running. It comes with a powerful 3.5 motor, a long, 20" x 58" treadbelt and 2.5" rollers. The larger the rollers the less stress on the belt, which results in longer life.

If you feel too confined with a 20" wide belt, then this may be the model for you. With 3.5 hp motor you'll plenty of power to spare.
