Note: the Spirit SL188 is no longer available. Spirit has a reputation for building a good solid treadmill. Unfortunately they recently have converted all of their manufacturing overseas and their new treadmill are unproven. Experience with other manufacturers that have moved the production overseas often results in poor quality control. I would give it a year to see how the new designs prove themselves.

They are also are known for making very solid folding treadmills. If they have a flaw it is that they are not much on looks or features.

Not one of the most attractive models, but it is a good walking treadmill for under $1,000. The warranty indicates that these machines will last in comparison to Icon products.

A good solid machine without the frills.
