The
Reebok 8400C treadmill is an Icon product, and has nothing to do with the shoe
company. Icon also builds, Weslo, Image, ProForm, NordicTrack and Epic. I is one
of the biggest sellers at Dick's Sporting Goods.
Icon
builds treadmill heavy on features, often at the cost of the quality of the construction
and components. The
standout feature is the 60" long running surface, which can handle tall users.
A belt that long is also excellent for sprinting and interval training, although
I would categorize the Reebok 8400C as primarily a walking treadmill. Overall,
the deck had the right amount of shock absorption.
The
downside of this treadmill is the 2.25 continuous duty hp motor.
They claim this is commercial grade, but take my word for it, this
is not a commercial motor. In fact, I would suggest that the motor
is too small for the size of the deck.
There
are 10 workout program, plus a customized program. You get heart rate monitoring
through the hand grips. The machine weighs a sturdy 238 lbs. Reebok

Review
The
Reebok 8400C has a number of nice features for the price. Including the overall
weight and the length of the deck. It comes with a 1 year service warranty and
1 year parts and 12 years on the motor. Considering this is an Icon product you
may want to buy the extended service warranty. There is a 2 and 3 year option. The
treadmill was selling for $899 at Dicks Sporting, at that price you may want to
check out some other treadmills in this price range. If you are sold on this machine,
consider joining CostCo and get the similar Epic
model for a $100 less. It
should be noted that Icon does not have the best customer service warranty. I
just got a message from a person who bought their Weslo treadmill. They couldn't
even get a response from customer service. |
