10" Touch Screen Color Display with Android Browser — This feature is what makes the ProForm Performance 1450 unique and worth considering. The Internet browser equipped display allows you to connect online and view your favorite web sites, catch up on your email, listen to music on Pandora.com, and more. You can also directly access the full features of Google Maps on iFit Live without the need of a laptop or smart phone.

iFit Live — iFit Live is all about motivating yourself to achieve your fitness goals and beyond. This is how it works. Your treadmill communicates directly with the Internet.  You start by logging onto iFit.com and creating a profile, including defining your fitness goals. For example, you may want to  lose 10 lbs. in three months or train for a race. Through your Wi-Fi connection, iFit will download personalized workouts designed to achieve your desired goals. The workouts are created by professional fitness trainers like Jillian Michaels. They are progressive in nature and include audio coaching. Depending on your progress, iFit Live will adjust the intensity of your  workouts.

Your stats are communicated back to iFit.com so you can constantly track your progress.  Research has shown that those who monitor their progress are more likely to succeed in achieving their goals.

In addition, through Google Maps, you can experience exercising on roads and trails throughout the world. You define a route on Google Maps, and your treadmill will simulate the terrain by adjusting the incline. In addition, you can get a street, map, satellite or earth view as you run the route. There is also a library of existing routes of famous cityscapes or trails in national parks. I tried iFit Live when I was at the headquarters and ran through my neighborhood while viewing familiar sites.

Finally, you can compete in sponsored races. Icon Fitness holds scheduled races through predetermined routes. As you race you can view your progress in relation to the leader, the pack and the last person. One of their recent races had over 2,000 competitors. There are also a series of training routines for 5K, 10K, and marathon races.

3.25 Continuous Duty HP Motor — With a 3.25 HP motor, you have more than enough power to run smoothly and quietly at high speeds. The fact that it is covered by a lifetime warranty implies that it is a very durable motor.

20"x 60" Running Surface — A typical treadmill deck is usually around 54", which works for average height individuals. If you are taller, or into sprinting or interval training, you will appreciate the extra 6" of length. You won't feel like you are about to fall off the end. It should also be noted that according to ProForm this is the actual running surface.  Most treadmill manufacturers define the length in terms of the treadbelt.  What they don't tell you that up to 4" of length can be covered by the shroud.

Quality Speaker System with MP3 Input — When I was at the Icon Fitness headquarters I connected  my iPod to the sound system. We cranked it up and the sound maintained its clarity. This is one of the better sound systems found on a treadmill.  I have an elliptical where the speakers are such poor quality I can't listen to them.

Installed Fan — The fan optimally  points directly at your core, which is the most important part of your body to cool off. This fan has 3 speeds, but you can set it for manual and it will speed up as you run faster.

Warranty — As mentioned, you get lifetime coverage on the motor.  You also get a generous 5-years parts and 2-years labor warranty.
