When
selling for $999, the ProForm iLOG 750 treadmill is one of the better
deals at that price range. Typical of ProForm, they load up their
machines with numerous options, and the 750 is no exception.
Here are some of the features you get
Powerful 3.5 continuous duty HP motor - To be honest, this
motor is probably overkill for this range of treadmill. This is
the size motor you would use in a treadmill built for serious runners.
Since the rest of the treadmill is engineered towards walkers or
joggers, ProForm could have gotten by with a 2.5 HP motor. Regardless,
at 3.5 HP you are getting a motor that will run effortlessly at
high speeds and steep inclines. It comes with a lifetime warranty.
Note: As of 7/22/08 the ProForm iLOG 750 was selling for
$1,399 with shipping. It has sold for hundreds less in the past. Go to www.ProForm.com for the latest prices.
iFit Fitness Journal - The company that builds ProForm also
builds NordicTrack, Epic and Reebok treadmills. The one thing you
can say about all these brands, for the price, you are getting some
innovative features. The Fitness Journal is an example. Through
your treadmill you are able to monitor your progress over various
periods of time. The iLOG 750 generates daily, weekly, monthly and
yearly workout totals for up to two individual users.
Progress is what you fitness goals should be all about. Once you
plateau, you cease to make progress. Meaning you are not losing
any more weight or getting fitter. By tracking your progress, you
can push yourself to new levels and reach new goals.
Speaker System with iPod Docking - In general music can
motivate you to workout harder unless you are listening to Brahms.
You can plug in your iPod into the console and output to the built-in
speakers.
Workout Programs - You get a combination of 8 training programs
and 10 customizable programs. These programs give a variety of challenges
and help to break up the monotony of walking or jogging in place.
Our Review - ProForm iLOG 750
As mentioned, when selling a $999, with shipping, this treadmill
is a decent value. However, I need to add a couple of footnotes.
Although you are getting a monster of a motor, I would suggest this
treadmill is geared for walkers and moderate joggers. This ranks
at the upper range of a budget machine and by no means is commercial
grade. Regarding the weight limit, I would put it somewhere at the
230 lb. range.
This web site only mentions the lifetime warranty on the motor.
If it comes with a 90-day parts and labor warranty, you definitely
want to upgrade. Even if it comes with 1-year parts and labor, I
would go for the 2-year coverage.
