For the money, the ProForm 7.5 Distance Trainer Treadmill is a good value, particularly when it is selling for $799, with shipping. However, I have one issue with the name "Distance Trainer. "This a budget treadmill, and is not designed for distance training or marathon training.

However, if you are looking for a walking or a light jogging treadmill, this machine is worth considering.

I've talked to Icon, the manufacturer of ProForm, on how they position their machines. They tend to overstate their capabilities. There are no treadmills for under $1,000 that I would recommend for distance training. The simple logic is treadmills in this price range are budget machines, built with budget parts.

ProForm has had a problem with buyers expecting more out of their treadmill than they can delivery, resulting in dissatisfied customers. That is why you will find with my reviews that I try to manage your expectations.

So, this is what you can expect from the ProForm 7.5 Distance Trainer. It is a budget treadmill, which is designed for walking and light jogging, and the user weight limit should be set about 235 lbs. If you plan to jog regularly and/or have multiple users, you should be looking at a $1,000+ treadmill.

2.25 Continuous Duty HP Motor - Once again, this HP rated motor is ideal for walkers and light joggers. Runners should be considering treadmills with a 3.0 HP motor.

28 Workout Programs - To succeed in burning calories and getting in shape you have to be motivated. Having a variety of exercise challenges can contribute to your success. The workout programs include four customized programs, where you can create your workout and save it for future exercising.

ifit® Fitness Journal - You can generate daily, weekly, monthly and yearly fitness reports. It is nice to monitor your progress, because progress is what it is all about when achieving your fitness goals.

iPod Docking Station - You can plug you iPod into the console and output through built-in speakers. Music is a excellent motivator.

Console - The display on the console is pretty basic and is what you would expect from a budget treadmill. Still, it does provide multiple readouts on your progress.

Warranty - The warranty on the ProForm 7.5 Distance Runner is better than most ProForm treadmills. You get lifetime motor coverage and 2-years parts and service.

Our Review - ProForm 7.5 Distance Runner Treadmill

The Distance Runner is a good budget value with some decent features. However, if you plan on doing heavy-duty workouts, you need to get a heavy-duty machine. Overall, ProForm offers some of the best value for sub $1,000 treadmills. ProForm is built by the same company that builds NordicTrack, Reebok, Weslo and Epic treadmills.
