proform 9.0 competitor treadmill reviewWhat makes the ProForm 9.0 Competitor attractive is the 60" long treadbelt. Usually treadmills with a 60" belt go for at least $1,500. The extra length is a necessity for tall users - individuals over 6'.

The ProForm 9.0 Competitor Features:

20 Workout Programs - You get a good range of workout programs that control the incline and speed of the treadmill. They provide variety to your workout. Four of the programs are customizable, allowing you to create your own program and save it for future use.

Note: As of 7/22/08 the ProForm 9.0 Competitor was selling for $749 with shipping. For the latest prices go to www.ProForm.com

Adjustable Cushioning Deck - You can change the absorption level from soft to stiff. You can adjust for either a firm surface for a better push off or a softer surface for less impact.

2.5 Continuous Duty HP Motor - They claim this motor is commercial grade. The reality is you won't find a 2.5 hp motor in any treadmill in a commercial setting. This motor is adequate for walkers and joggers. If you are a serious runner you'll want to consider a treadmill with a 3.0 hp motor or better.

Generous Warranty - ProForm is not know for their warranty coverage. They have generally provide below average warranties, with the idea of selling additional coverage. Ninety days parts and labor is often standard. The ProForm iLOG 550 treadmill comes with a lifetime motor, 4 year roller, 2 year parts and 1 year labor warranty.

The one feature I am not impresseed with is the console and display. It is very basic, with a cheap display.

Our Review - ProForm 9.0 Competitor

Once again, a treadmill with a 60" belt for under $1,000, makes this a contender. They rate this treadmill for up to a 300 lb. user. I would put the limit at around 230 lbs.

Another consider is the NordicTrack C2500, which is built by the same company. They dropped the price and last I looked it was selling for $999. It has some very impressive features for the money.
