ProForm Club Series H120t Treadmill Review

 

With a name like ProForm Club Series H120t, you might expect this treadmill to be commercial quality.  Don’t let the name fool you!  Currently priced at around $1000, the Club Series H120t is more of a budget treadmill than a commercial one.

As a budget treadmill, however, the ProForm Club Series H120t is a pretty good buy.  What makes this treadmill different from other budget models?  For one thing, it is equipped with some very nice features, including iFit® technology and a music port that is compatible with iPod®.  This particular model IS an Icon Fitness product, and for the most part, Icon comes up with some quite decent machines. They are the largest fitness equipment manufacturer in the world. 

With iFit® technology, you can insert any result-specific workout card into the console and let a personal trainer lead you through that workout.  The iFit® will automatically adjust the speed and incline levels on your treadmill according to the workout and intensity level you choose.

To make those workouts more enjoyable, use the built-in music port to play your favorite tunes.  Music has been shown to keep the exerciser more motivated during workouts.

Additional features that you’ll find on the ProForm Club Series H120t treadmill include the following:

• 20” x 60” cushioned treadbelt – This is a larger belt than is found on the average budget treadmill.  The cushion helps reduce stress to the hips, back, knees, and ankles.
• Cooling fans – Exercising on a treadmill can really make you sweat.  These fans provide a little relief as they blow a gentle cool breeze towards your upper body.
• 20 personal trainer workouts and 4 create and save workouts – With so many workout programs from which to choose, you can mix up your daily routines to challenge your body more and to prevent exercise boredom.  Whether your focus is on weight-loss, cardiovascular training, endurance, or performance, this wide selection of workouts can help you reach your fitness goals.
• Heart rate monitor – The heart rate monitor is common on most treadmills today.  This one is better than no heart rate monitor; but you won’t get a 100% accurate reading using the built-in handlegrip sensors.
• LED display – The LED display shows how long you’ve been working, distance traveled, calories burned, speed, and pulse rate so that you can easily monitor your workout progress.  LED displays are generally higher quality and easier to read than LCD displays.

Our Review – The ProForm Club Series H120t Treadmill

For a lower end model, the ProForm Club Series H120t treadmill by Icon Fitness is an adequate buy.  Just be aware that it IS a budget treadmill  that is intended more for walking and light jogging than for running or commercial use. 

Being equipped with iFit® technology and an iPod® dock add to the appeal of the ProForm H120t.  Such features provide more variety and entertainment to workouts to better keep you motivated to stick with your exercise program.  After all, you can’t meet your fitness goals if you don’t work toward those goals.

The parts and labor warranty is only one year, which is still much better than the 90-day warranties that come with many budget treadmills.  It is possible that this treadmill might require a little more maintenance and repair work than a more expensive model.  Nonetheless, the ProForm Club Series H120t by Icon is a more dependable budget treadmill than many models that are currently on the market.
