Icon Fitness, the world's largest fitness equipment company, produces some quality machines in a variety of price ranges. In the budget price range, the ProForm 785 CS treadmill is a decent buy.

As a budget treadmill, I don't recommend this one for runners or for people who weigh over 230 pounds. It simply isn't going to be durable enough to withstand that kind of constant pounding or too much weight. For walkers under 230 pounds, however, the 785 CS is a contender when it is priced competitively.

ProForm 785 CS Treadmill Features...

Workout Fan: This fan is built into the console of the treadmill and is aimed towards your chest to better cool you down.

Adjustable Cushioning: This feature allows you to adjust the cushioning to a level that is most comfortable for you.

Sound System: Plug in your IPod and listen to your favorite music through the built-in sound system. Music can be a wonderful workout motivator!

iFit Workout Cards: The 785 CS treadmill is equipped with the technology to use iFit Workout Cards. Single workout cards cost about $30. Package deals go up to $110. The cards provide 8-week exercise programs, including audio coaching by professional trainers to keep you motivated and on track. Each program automatically controls speed and incline levels.

Extended Warranty Recommended: Because the ProForm 785 CS treadmill is a less expensive treadmill, it isn't built to be quite as strong and durable as more expensive models. I recommend buying the extended warranty to protect your investment against defects and malfunctions. The cost is reasonable.

Our Review - ProForm 785 CS Treadmill

Here is the deal on the 785 CS. For the money, the warranty, motor and deck size is about average. The cushioning is OK, but not near as good as machines that cost considerably more. However, it is a vast improvement over walking on asphalt and concrete.

What makes this treadmill stand out the iFit technology, which is a plus. Yes, the cards cost extra, but the series of workout programs can really get you motivated and assist you in achieving your fitness goals.

Bottomline - If you find this treadmill for $800 or less it is worth considering. If it is going for more check out the other treadmills at ProFormTreadmills.com and the NordicTrack models.
