The ProForm 705 CST is a good value for a budget treadmill when priced at $799. I would primarily recommend it for walkers, but it will probably survive the activity of joggers (slow runners) who are not extremely overweight. ProForm offers some of the best value in treadmills under $1,000. They are a subsidiary of Icon Fitness, which is the largest fitness equipment company in the world. Consequently, they have the advantage of the economy of scale - selling more for less!

Features - ProForm 705 CST Treadmill
2.5 Continuous Duty HP Motor — A motor that is more than adequate for walkers and joggers. It comes with a lifetime motor, suggesting it seldom fails.
20" x 55" Treadbelt — This treadbelt is sufficient for average height individuals. For those above average, you may want to dish out another $200 and get a machine with a 60" long treadbelt. See the ProForm Power 995.
Folding Feature — If you are spaced challenged, the ProForm 705 CST easily folds. The folding mechanism does not compromise on the stability, which use to be the case years ago.
iFit Live Compatible — iFit Live is one of the most intriguing features to come out on a treadmill in years. It allows your treadmill to communicate with the Internet. The brief description is that you can create a fitness goal profile online and iFit Live will download personalized workout routines that control the speed and incline of your treadmill while providing audio coaching. Several of these programs are designed by Jillian Michaels.
In addition, you can map out routes on Google Maps and your treadmill will simulate the terrain by controlling the incline. You can view your progress through a Laptop computer or a smart phone. There is an additional charge for this feature, regardless, it is extremely popular with customers.
16 Workout Apps — If you don't want to spend the extra money for iFit Live you can choose from 16 installed workout programs. They include 4 speed, 4 endurance, 4 weight-loss intervals and 4 calorie-burn accelerator workouts. I find changing workouts helps to break the monotony of walking or jogging in place.
Speaker System with MP3 Input — The sound won't blow you away, but it is probably the best system you will find on an $800 treadmill. Music is an excellent motivator when exercising. I constantly rock out when I am on my machine.
Warranty — As mentioned, you get a lifetime warranty on the motor, and 2-year parts and 1-year labor coverage. Typical at this price. If you want to protect your investment, you may want to consider extending the warranty.
Our Review — ProForm 705 CST Treadmill
Years ago ProForm treadmills were synonymous with cheap exercise machines. They often self destructed just when the warranties ended. In fact, their warranties were typically 90-days. Like the American auto industry, Icon Fitness figured out that quality sells, and it sells even better at a value price.
Currently ProForm builds some of the best budget treadmills available. The ProForm 705 CST treadmill is a perfect example. It may not be a heavy duty running machine, but it is a moderate priced treadmill that offers decent components matched with impressive motivational features.
As mentioned, this treadmill is best suited for walkers and light joggers. Also, I would rate the user weight limit at around 240 lbs.
