When priced aggressively the ProForm 1050T is a sweet deal.  It comes with features that you will often find on treadmills that sell for considerably more.  How can ProForm price their treadmills so low?  Being a subsidiary of the largest fitness equipment company in the world they have a price advantage over their competitor due to their sheer volume of sales.

In the past ProForm was known as a low-priced, budget brand, and their quality, or lack of it, reflected that image.  In the last several years they have made serious improvements not only in their quality control, but also their customer service.  In addition, they are now offering higher quality machines at value prices.   The ProForm 1505T is a perfect example.

ProForm 1050T Treadmill Features

3.0 Continuous Duty HP Motor — A 3.0 HP motor is adequate for jogging or running. The motors that ProForm uses are reliable, and few if any have service issues. The 1050T motor comes with a lifetime warranty.

20"x 60" Treadbelt — A typical treadmill at this price range has a belt around around 54", which works for average height individuals. If you are taller, or into sprinting or interval training, you will appreciate the extra 6" of length. You won't feel like you are about to fall off the end.

iFit Workout Card Technology — If you are not motivated to use your treadmill it is a waste of money. Motivation is what you need to sweat off those extra pounds. The 1050T comes with iFit technology, which is a series of training programs that act like a virtual personal trainer, minus their expensive fee.

The programs are designed by professional trainers, including Jillian Michaels of "Biggest Loser" fame, and control the speed and incline of your treadmill.  Each card offers a number of workouts based on your exercise goals and level of fitness. They include audio coaching to further encourage you burn those calories. (Note: The cards are an additional cost.)

Quality Sound System — When I was at the ProForm corporate offices I heard this sound system, and it was impressive. We cranked it up and the sound maintained its clarity.

Adjustable Cushioning Deck — This innovative deck allows you to adjust the level of shock absorption. Depending on your preference, you can have more or less shock resistance. Walkers may want a more sturdy deck, while runners may prefer a more forgiving impact.

20 Workout Programs — You get a wide range of installed programs that control the speed and incline of your exercise routine.  In fact, you can plug in how many calories you want to burn and the ProForm 1050T will automatically adjust the speed and incline to achieve those goals - within reason! Being able to workout to a variety of challenges helps to break up the boredom of running in place.

Warranty — Usually ProForm only offers a 1-year parts and labor warranty, but on the 1050T they added another year to the parts coverage.

Our Review - ProForm 1050T Treadmill

As mentioned, when priced aggressively, the 1050T is one of the better values from ProForm.  It is not a heavy duty commercial running machine, but it is ideal for both walkers and joggers, particularly with the powerful motor and the extra long running surface.  You'll find that treadmills with comparable belt lengths and motors will run at least several hundred dollars more.
ProForm changes prices regularly so the price on the 1050T can vary drastically. My comments above will notify you when is the best  time to buy.
