When
you look at the features of the NordicTrack S 3000, it is hard to
believe this treadmill is built by the same company that builds
ProForm, Weslo, Image and Healthrider.
This is a heavy duty machine that is up to commercial standards
and is designed for serious runners. It comes with a monster 5.0
hp motor. Perfect for marathon runners, multiple users, and people
up to 350lbs. Most treadmill brands make exaggerated claims regarding
the weight limit of their machines. With a 5.0 hp motor this machine
can handle that kind of weight.
You can kick up the incline to 15%. That is comparable to running
up the shear side of a mountain.
There
is a 60" long deck, which can accommodate taller than usual
users. It is also excellent for interval training and sprints. Running
sprints on 54" or less can be uncomfortable.
You get a generous selection of workout programs - 39 total. They
include:
- 25 workouts designed by Certified Personal Trainers
- 4 Heart Rate workouts that keep you in your target heart rate
zone (I believe the wireless belt is extra)
- 4 MyDesign workouts that you can customize for your own personal
preferences
- 4 Calorie workouts designed to help you reach a set number of
calories
burned during a workout
- 1 10K workout
- 1 Marathon workout
There is a lifetime warranty on the motor and 2-years parts and
1-year labor. Not the best warranty for this price range, but you
can upgrade the warranty for longer coverage.
It should be noted that this treadmill requires a 20 amp outlet.
Our Review - NordicTrack S 3000 TreadmillS
No denying this a solid, heavy-duty machine, the question is, is
it the best value at $2,999. At that price range you can only get
the low-end model of the other commercial grade treadmills like
Landice, Precor and True. These brands all have outstanding reputations.
The S 3000 offers more for less. Part of the reason is it is offered
by the largest fitness equipment company in the world. Icon Fitness.
Consumer Report
CR rated the NordicTrack second overall, just below the Landice
L7. They gave it an excellent for "Exercise Range"
and Ergonomics, and a very good for "Construction."
Runner's World Review
"This machine is as sturdy as they come, receiving a
perfect score from testers for the stability ranking. While the

Note: This treadmill is very heavy. If you plan to buy it
online I highly recommend you get the turnkey delivery and setup.
Further Note: The 5.0 HP motor requires a 20-amp outlet.
