For the price, the NordicTrack C 2255 is not a bad treadmill, for a budget machine. However, if you are considering purchasing this particular model, you need to be aware of the limitations. This is a lightweight treadmill designed primarily for walking, if you plan to jog or run you will want to upgrade.
To be honest, it amazes me that NordicTrack can build a treadmill like this for so little money. Part of the reason is that the company is a subsidiary of Icon Fitness, which is the largest fitness equipment manufacturer in the world. If I remember from econ 101, it is called "economy of scale." Their massive volume allows them to build more for less.

The NordicTrack C 2255 Features.
You get a 20" x 55" treadbelt, an adequate length to handle most users. The deck has a three position adjustable cushion. You can adjust the level of cushioning. To be honest, I didn't notice all that much difference that the three positions. However, the overall cushioning is a vast improvement over running on concrete or asphalt.
As I mentioned this is primarily a walking treadmill. The 2.25 continuous duty motor is adequate for walking, and should not strain at higher speeds.
The C2255 is equipped with the patented iFITworkout card technology. You put the card into the console and you get a guided workout, complete with the voice of a personal trainer. (The cards are an additional charge.)
The blue backlit display is not bad for a sub $1,000 machine. You get several readouts simultaneously. The console has a built in fan, but don't expect it to cool you down too much.
What distinguishes this budget Icon treadmill from the other brands is a reasonable warranty. You get lifetime coverage on the motor and one-year parts and labor warranty. With many of the sub $1,000 treadmills from Icon you get 90-days parts and labor.
Our Review - NordicTrack C2255
I would prefer to see you spend in more money and get a heavier duty treadmill, but if your budget is limited, this is probably one of the better deals out there. It has some decent features and includes a reasonable motor.
I would recommend that you increase the warranty by a year or two. The cost is not that much more.
