The
Nordic Track C2300 is another of the countless Icon products. Icon is the world's
largest treadmill manufacturer, and sells under brand names like ProForm,
Weslo and Reebok.
The
Nordic Track C2300 treadmill is a typical Icon design. The emphasis is on the
packaging, while compromising on components and quality engineering. It works,
no other manufacturer comes close in total sales. The
C2300 is equipped with a 2.5 continuous duty horsepower motor. They claim it is
commercial grade. Get real. At high speeds it tends to strain. The
belt is a decent length at 55". Should accommodate most average size users.
It comes wit a DuraSoft Impact Reducing Cushioning. You move yellow handles up
or down the bottom of the deck to increase or decrease the shock absorption. First,
I found it extremely hard to move these handles, second I couldn't tell the difference.
Incline
goes to 12%, while the speed tops out at 10 mph. The console has a good design
that is simple and logical. There are one touch buttons to reach different speeds
and inclines. You don't have to scroll/.
You
get a lifetime warranty on the motor, which suggests it should last. However,
you only get a 1 year parts and labor warranty. Says something about the rest
of the components. The
C2300 sells from $999 - $1,299. Sears had it at $999, and their delivery charge
was fairly reasonable. Save yourself some back breaking pain and have it delivered.

At
the $1,000+ range there are better values, including Smooth
and Sole. Each has longer warranties.
NordicTrack does build some good high-end treadmills, but their budget treadmills
are potential trouble down the road.
