The
LifeFitness T3 treadmill is the intro model of the line-up of
their high-end models. LifeFitness has an excellent reputation for
quality and durability, and they charge a premium price for that
reputation. However, the T3 treadmill offers the Life Fitness quality
without requiring taking out a second mortgage.
When
shopping for a treadmill, realize you will find other brands and
models that will match the features found in the Life Fitness T3
and cost considerably less. But, it is the quality of the components
and the engineering that define the treadmill.
This is what you get with the Life Fitness T3 treadmill:
3.0 continuous duty HP motor. This motor should be adequate
for jogging and running. If you are an exercise fanatic or will
have multiple users you should consider one of their high-end
models.
- 58" x 20" treadbelt. Once again, the belt length should
be sufficient to handle both joggers and runners. Extremely tall
individuals will want to consider a treadmill with a 60"
long belt.
- A reasonable selection of workout programs and wireless heart
rate control. The console is designed to provide multiple readouts
simultaneously.
- The deck is only ¾" thick, however, they claim the
machine can handle a weight limit of 400 lbs. I would be rather
leery of the suggested limit, and would not buy this treadmill
if you were over 300 lbs.
- The warranty has an average motor and service warranty for the
price - 10-years motor and 1-year service. However, they have
a generous 5-year parts warranty.
The MSRP for the T3 is $2,199; I believe you can probably negotiate
that price down a couple hundred dollars at a fitness equipment
specialty store.
Our Review - LifeFitness T3
Buying the LifeFitness T3 is like wanting a Mercedes, but settling
for the cheapest model. You are not getting all the bells and whistles
of the high-end models, but you are still getting some of the premium
quality for a reasonable price.
The one criticism is the T3 is not the quietist treadmill on the
market. I would rank it at about a "7" out of "10".
Are there better values at $2,000? Probably, but none of the other
models come with the LifeFitness reputation.
Note: You have two version of the T3, the Basic and Advanced. The Basic is just that, you get very basic electronics, including 5 preprogrammed workouts.
The Advanced comes with 10 workout programs, 2 user profiles, 2 custom programs and wireless heart rate control. The Advanced goes for an additional $500.
At this price also check out the Sole F85 and the new Smooth 9.35HR.
