Horizon
CST 3.5 Treadmill
$800
- $1,000
|
The
CST 3.5 Treadmill is one of Horizon's more popular models. If your
budget dictates you spend $800 or less, then this treadmill may
be worth considering.
As
we state throughout the site, we encourage buyers to spend at least
$1,000 when purchasing a treadmill. Otherwise you are compromising
on quality. But if a few hundred dollars is going to determine whether
you get back into shape, than this treadmill is a contender.
The
CST3.5 comes with a reasonable 20"x 55" running surface.
The motor has slightly more power then the T50 and T61. At 2.0 hp
it should hold up to moderate use. The treadmill comes with a better
choice of programs in comparison to the cheaper models.
As
with other Horizon sub $1,000 treadmills, the CST 3.5 has a (1)
year parts warranty. You may want to consider upgrading the warranty.
If
you are sold on this treadmill we recommend it only for walking.

CST 3.5 Treadmill Reviews
Our
Review
We
found the CST 3.5 selling for $800, with inside delivery at Dick's
Sporting. That is an attractive price. We tested this model and
found it adequate for walking workouts. It is not the most solid
feeling treadmill, but hey it cost $800.
Note:
I got a call from a owner of the CST 3.5 asking how to align the
treadbelt. I called her back and found out she called the customer
service number and got a recording explaining the simple repair.
Apparently this is a common problem, but can be fixed in minutes.
Customer
Reviews
We purchased a Horizon CST 3.5 approximately one-and-a-half
years ago (in August of 2006). We have had no problems with this
machine, and the customer care has been impeccable. Shortly after
our purchase, we had our basement redone, and our contractor accidentally
threw out the box with the tools and lubricant in it. When we
contacted Horizon to order another box, they sent it free! I also
contacted them recently through the web and they replied within
24 hours. My only complaint is that the HR monitor can take up
to a minute to find your heart rate. Maybe it s my hands, or the
sensors need cleaning, but I have found this to be a consistent
problem since purchase. Other than that, it is quiet, consistent
and has useful workout programs, each with multiple levels of
difficulty. We would purchase a Horizon treadmill again.
