The
Diamondback 700Tm is the premium version of their treadmills. It is designed for
runners and taller individuals. That is due to the 3.0 hp continuous duty motor
and the 60" running surface.
When I tested this particular model,
even at higher speeds the motor did not appear to strain. The 60" surface
is ideal for individuals that are over 5'10", and for those that are into
sprinting and interval training. In comparison to your typical 55" deck,
that extra five inches of length can make quite a difference. Other features
found on the Diamondback 700Tm treadmill include: Extensive
selection of programs, including 4 heart rate, 10 preset and 4 custom programs.
- Numeric quick keys for instant adjustment of speed and incline.
- Wireless
heart rate control, which includes the strap.
- Well design console
and display, providing multiple readouts and percentage bar graph.
- 15%
incline - allows you to take your cardio workout to the limits.
- 2.5"
rollers - These larger rollers will reduce wear on the motor, bearings, rollers
and belt.
- 272 lb weight - makes the 700Tm rock solid.
- Lifetime
motor, 5-year parts and 1-year labor warranty.
Our Review - Diamondback
700TmOverall I was impressed with the feel and response of the 700Tm.
It appeared an excellent choice for serious runners. My concern, as mentioned
in the Diamondback treadmill review, is the newness of the machine. Diamondback
has been know as a manufacturer of good valued exercise bikes and steppers. They
got into the treadmill business a couple of years ago and failed. They
are trying again, with what appears to be improved products, but time will tell.
It should be noted that the salesperson I talked to mentioned there has been few
service issues on the models they sold. Of course, I wouldn't expect him to say
they've been service nightmares.
