 Precor
has been in the business of building quality treadmills for 20 years. You pay
a premium for a Precor treadmill, but you are assured you are getting a well built
machine, backed by an industry leading warranty.
They
are designed to withstand extensive use and are ideal for serious runners. That
is why the Precor treadmill receives so many favorable ratings (See
Precor Treadmill models). There
is no question that the Precor treadmills are some of the best on the market,
the issue is are they the best value. Starting at $3,200 you are getting a superior
running machine with a powerful motor, oversized running deck and quality electronics.
You'll
find that Precor treadmills are generally low mainenance. The deck is easy requires
little to no service. It is self-lubricating, and because the deck is reversible,
its life is doubled.
There
is one feature we particularly like on the Precor treadmills. - Integrated
Footplant technology.
Unique to Precor treadmills, this feature preserves your natural gait by accommodating
foot speed changes that occur with every step. It creates a more natural walking/running
motion to help you stay balanced and in control of your stride.

Treadmill Reviews:Our
ReviewIs
this the best treadmill in the $3,000 - $4,000 price range? It is hard to find
a better machine, and we feel the Precor 9.33 is one of the best treadmills at
$3,500.
The
real question is whether you need a commercial grade treadmill for
the home. For some this may be an overkill. There are some impressive
models that are less, like the Sole
F85 ($2,000), and the Landice
Pro Sports Trainer ($3,100).
It
should be noted that Precor offers one of the most extensive warranties available.
Their treadmills come with a 10 year parts and 1 year labor warranty. Although
Sole offers a two year service warranty on most of their treadmills. Runner's
World Magazine Rating on the Precor 9.33 Bottom
Line: The touch-sensitive controls respond as soon as your finger lightly touches
the recessed button area; you don't have to push. Fairly fast speed changes. Compact
console with a large, dot-matrix display that some testers found hard to read.
The display shows only two data readouts (plus heart rate) at a time; you have
to push buttons to choose other data. Display only shows pace momentarily when
changing speeds. Tester
quote: "The responsive buttons are great during a speed workout when you're
tired. But I'd like to see more data readouts so I don't have to keep pushing
buttons to get the information I need."
Consumers
Reports
CR
rated the Precor 9.33 4th in the ranking of 24 treadmills. They gave it an "Excellent"
for exercise range, ergonomics and quality. ConsumerGuide Consumer
Guide gave both the Precvor 9.31 and the 9.35
treadmills a "Recommended" rating.
Precor
treadmills are sold primarily through fitness specialty stores.
You will find remanufactured models sold online. We are leary of
these rebuilt treadmills, especially since most come with a 90 day
parts and labor warranty.
